I realize that everybody who has ever been and ever will be an FFVII fan has done some kind of tribute to Sephiroth and his one wing... but having done this years ago (Halloween of 2002, actually) and only just now being able to get my filthy paws on it (damn dirty ape,) I thought I would post the costume which inspire the art piece that was all really just a continuous tribute to the one wing angel.
Having stated that, I'd like to point out that put together the wing with basically a wire hanger and some additional 18 gauge. I'm sorry that I lack for a better pic or this (and that I'm in a campy pose, yes. I thought it was cute.) Yes, that's like three or four of those big bags of black feathers that I tendiously glued, wound, adhered in some fashion to the wire frame. There are also some dyed black, larger chicken feathers, and the largest of the feathers are actually peacock tail feathers (not the usual blue deals, but the support feathers.) Oh, I actually put together the vest/long coat thing. I stitched it (horribly) by hand and sewing machine, installed ribbons with little tiny gold buckets as fasteners.
Again, sorry the picture quality is a little sketchy. One of these days, I'll see if I can find the art project that the one wing ended up in (a plaster, wood, and barbedwire deal that sort of fell apart after a few years in the garage.)
A crazed grandma! Does that make me a "catlady?"
Rock!
all these come to mind...
You do look about as violent as one though.
I was wondering if you hacked at any kneecaps while you were out.
